Controlled drug release from porous materials by plasma polymer deposition.
In this communication, we present a novel approach for control of drug release from porous materials. The method is based on deposition of a plasma polymer layer with controlled thickness which reduces a pore diameter and, hence, defines the rate of drug release.
متن کاملNanostructured Materials Production by Hypersonic Plasma Particle Deposition
We report on a new process for producing nanostructured materials, hypersonic plasma particle deposition (ItPPD), wherein a thermal plasma seeded with vapor-phase precursors is supersonically expanded through a nozzle to nucleate ultrafine particles, which are then deposited by hypersonic impaction onto a temperature-controlled substrate. Results from preliminary experiments aimed at synthesizi...
متن کاملCoating Deposition Using Vacuum Arc and Ablation Metal Plasma
An innovative concept in the development of advanced coating deposition and ion implantation method including an application of filtered DC metal plasma or ablation plasma and highfrequency short-pulsed negative bias voltage with a duty factor in the range 10–99% are considered. It was shown that plasma based ion implantation as well as ion-assisted coating deposition may be realized for metal ...
متن کاملPreparation of a platinum electrocatalyst by coaxial pulse arc plasma deposition
We have developed a new method of preparing Pt electrocatalysts through a dry process. By coaxial pulse arc plasma deposition (CAPD), highly ionized metal plasma can be generated from a target rod without any discharged gases, and Pt nanoparticles can be deposited on a carbon support. The small-sized Pt nanoparticles are distributed over the entire carbon surface. From transmission electron mic...
متن کاملDiameter control of single-walled carbon nanotube forests from 1.3–3.0 nm by arc plasma deposition
We present a method to both precisely and continuously control the average diameter of single-walled carbon nanotubes in a forest ranging from 1.3 to 3.0 nm with ~1 Å resolution. The diameter control of the forest was achieved through tuning of the catalyst state (size, density, and composition) using arc plasma deposition of nanoparticles. This 1.7 nm control range and 1 Å precision exceed the...
